Dismantling
CAUTION: Do not perform any work on the SRS system until you have read the relevant sections of this Manual.
CAUTION: Do not lean over the air bag module when removing, inspecting, or installing it.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with the airbag system.

2. Remove the 2 screws securing the lower decorative trim of the airbag module.
3. Remove the decorative trim.
4. Remove the 4 Torx bolts securing the airbag module to the control panel.
5. Remove the airbag module from the instrument panel.
CAUTION: Do not allow the air bag module to hang by the power cable.
6. Release the electrical wiring from the clamp and disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag module.
7. Remove the airbag module.
CAUTION: Store air bags with the deployment side facing up. If the air bag module is stored with the deployment side facing down, it will be thrown upward with sufficient force if it accidentally deploys to cause serious injury.
Installation
NOTE: If the airbag module is replaced, the barcode of the new module must be recorded.
1. Position the airbag module near the control panel and connect the electrical connector to the module.
2. Install the airbag module to the instrument panel and tighten the Torx screws to 9 Nm.
3. Reinstall the lower trim panel of the airbag module and tighten the screws that secure it.
4. Connect the battery terminals, the negative terminal first.
