Dismantling
CAUTION: Do not perform any work on the SRS system until you have read the relevant sections of this Manual.
CAUTION: Do not lean over the air bag module when removing, inspecting, or installing it.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with the airbag system.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Rules for working with airbags and seat belt pretensioners.

2. Remove the 2 Torx screws securing the airbag module to the control panel.

3. Release the 4 fastening clips of the lower decorative cover of the airbag module.
4. Remove the lower trim panel of the airbag module.

5. Unscrew the 4 screws securing the lower decorative trim bracket.

6. Remove the 3 Torx bolts securing the airbag module to the control panel.
7. Remove the airbag module from the instrument panel.
CAUTION: Do not allow the air bag module to hang by the power cable.

8. Disconnect the electrical connector from the airbag module.
9. Remove the airbag module.
CAUTION: Store air bags with the deployment side facing up. If the air bag module is stored with the deployment side facing down, it will be thrown upward with sufficient force if it accidentally deploys to cause serious injury.
Installation
1. Position the airbag module near the control panel and connect the electrical connector to the module.
NOTE: If the airbag module is replaced, the barcode of the new module must be recorded.
2. Install the airbag module to the instrument panel and tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm.
3. Install the lower decorative cover onto the bracket.
4. Tighten the 4 screws securing the lower trim bracket.
5. Fix the lower decorative overlay to the clamps.
6. Install the 2 Torx screws securing the airbag module to the instrument panel.
7. Connect the battery terminals, the negative terminal first.
