Front inertia reel seat belt for 5-door vehicle (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Remove the seat base cover.

SEATS, REPAIR WORK, Front seat base pads.

2. Remove the upper trim panel from the B/C pillar of the body.

INTERIOR TRIM DETAILS, REPAIR WORK, Replacement of upper decorative panel of the 'B/C' pillar.

3. Release the seat belt guide.

4. Unscrew the nut securing the upper intermediate loop of the seat belt to its base.

5. Loosen the inertia reel mounting bolt and remove the reel.

Installation

NOTE: If a component of the passive restraint system needs to be replaced, the bar code of the new component must be recorded.

1. Install the inertia reel and tighten its mounting bolt to a torque of 31 Nm.

2. Pull the belt off the inertia reel, install the upper intermediate loop and tighten its fastening nut to a torque of 31 Nm.

3. Secure the seat belt guide.

4. Install the upper trim panel onto the B/C pillar of the body.

5. Install the seat base cover.
