Seat belt pretensioner activation.
It is prohibited to carry out any work on the SRS system before reading the relevant sections of the Manual.
1. Follow all safety rules when working with the airbag system.
GENERAL INFORMATION, Forced deployment of the SRS component.
2. Remove the seat belt pretensioner from the vehicle.
PASSIVE SAFETY SYSTEMS, REPAIR WORK, Front seat belt pretensioner.
3. Check the condition of the LRT-86-003 device and the cables supplied with it.
4. Clamp the LRT-86-007/02 bracket in a vice. The jaws of the vice should clamp the bracket above the lower flange to prevent the bracket from moving upward under the influence of detonation. Tighten the vice.
5. Install and secure the seat belt pretensioner to the LRT-86-007/02 bracket.
6. Connect the LRT-86-003/04 cable of the tool to the seat belt pretensioner.
7. Attach the LRT-86-003 tool to the other end of the LRT-86-003/04 cable.
8. Connect the LRT-86-003 device to the battery.
9. To activate the seat belt pretensioner, press the power button on the device body.
CAUTION: Make sure all people are at least 15 m away from the air bag module.
10. Disconnect the device from the battery.
CAUTION: When activated, parts of the seat belt pretensioner become very hot and may cause burns. Wait 30 minutes after activation before touching parts of the seat belt pretensioner.
11. Disconnect the tool cable from the seat belt pretensioner.
12. Remove the pretensioner from the bracket and place it in a sealed bag for later disposal.
13. Wipe the bracket with a damp cloth and remove it from the vice.
14. Dispose of the used pretensioner in a place designated for waste incineration.
NOTE: Do not transport parts of deployed passive restraint systems in the passenger compartment of the vehicle.
15. Reuse of any parts of passive safety systems is prohibited.
