Left rear seat belt buckle for 5-door vehicle (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

1. Fold the rear seat forward.



2. Loosen the 3 screws securing the seat back hinge cover and remove the cover from the seat back hinge.

3. Unscrew the 4 bolts securing the seat back latch and remove the latch assembly.

4. Loosen the Torx bolt securing the seat belt buckle and remove the buckle.

Installation

1. Install the seat belt buckle onto the latch and tighten the Torx bolt to 32 Nm.

2. Install the latch assembly onto the seat and tighten the Torx bolts.

3. Install the latch assembly onto the seat, tighten the Torx bolts, but do not tighten them completely yet.

4. Fold the rear seat back and make sure it returns correctly and locks into place. Adjust the latch if necessary.

5. Tighten the latch mounting Torx bolts to 32 Nm.

6. Perform the test again by folding the seat and returning it to its original position.

7. Install the cover and tighten the screws that secure it.

8. Return the rear seat to its place.
