Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

WARNING: Fuel vapors are highly flammable and in a confined space they are also toxic and explosive. When working with fuel, have a foam type fire extinguisher, carbon dioxide (CO) fire extinguisher on hand.;), gas or powder.


2. Remove the high pressure tubes from the injectors.

3. Remove the air cleaner filter element.

4. Remove the noise-insulating pad.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.


5. Disconnect the pads from the fuel injectors.

6. Unscrew the 3 bolts and move the injector control harness to the side.



7. Release the clamps and remove the fuel return hoses from the injectors.

8. Unscrew the 2 injector mounting nuts.

9. Using a Torx socket, rotate the injector mounting studs counterclockwise and remove the injector.

10. Remove the nozzle with the pressure tab and discard the sealing washer.

Assembly


1. Clean the injectors and their seats in the cylinder head.

2. Tighten the injector mounting studs. Tightening torque 10 Nm.

3. Install the nozzle with a new sealing washer and the pressure tab.

4. Tighten the injector mounting nuts evenly. Tightening torque 10 Nm.

5. Ensure that the fuel return hose connection areas are clean.

6. Install new seals on the return drain hoses, release the clamps and install the hoses on the injectors.

7. Install the injector control harness and tighten the mounting bolts. Tightening torque 2 Nm.

8. Connect the connectors to the injectors.

9. Install the high pressure tubes.

10. Install the noise-insulating pad in place.

11. Install the air cleaner filter element.

12. Connect the negative battery terminal.

13. To start the injector control system, use the TestBook/T4 device.
