Mounting box cooling fan (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

GENERAL INFORMATION, Precautions when working with electrical equipment.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the 10 screws securing the cover of the mounting box and remove the cover.

3. Remove the wire harness feedthrough seals from the junction box.

4. Disconnect the glow plug control unit support from the mounting box.

5. Remove the fuse and relay box from the junction box.

6. Remove the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control unit (ECU) from the mounting box.


6. Remove the engine control module (ECM) and transmission control unit (ECU) from the mounting box.

7. Remove the 2 engine control module (ECM) bracket mounting bolts and remove the bracket.


7. Remove the 2 engine control module (ECM) bracket mounting bolts and remove the bracket.

8. Disconnect the fan electrical connector and remove it from the mount on the fan shroud.


8. Disconnect the fan electrical connector and remove it from the mount on the fan shroud.



9. Loosen the two screws securing the fan to the mounting box and remove the fan.

Assembly


1. Install the fan and secure it with screws.

2. Install the fan harness into the retainer and connect the connector.

3. Install the engine control module (ECM) bracket and secure it with screws.

4. Install the engine control modules (ECM) and transmission control units (ECU) into the mounting box.

5. Install the relay and fuse box into the mounting box.

6. Install the glow plug control unit into the mounting box.

7. Install the wire harness feedthrough seals onto the mounting box.

8. Install the cover of the mounting box, screw in the screws and tighten them to a torque of 2 N·m.

9. Connect the negative battery terminal.
