Sensors: Fuel Temperature Sensor (EFT) (Range Rover 3)

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling

1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Lay out a rag to collect any leaking fuel.

CAUTION: Fuel leakage is inevitable during this operation. Take safety measures to prevent fire or explosion.

3. Disconnect the connector from the fuel temperature sensor (EFT).

4. Remove the fuel temperature sensor and discard the sealing washer.

CAUTION: Before disconnecting or removing system components, make sure that the adjacent surfaces of the joints are free of dirt. Install plugs in the openings of the fittings and pipes to prevent dirt from entering the system.

Assembly

1. Place a new sealing washer on the fuel temperature (EFT) sensor, screw in the sensor and tighten it to 13 N·m (11 ft·lbs).

2. Connect the connector.

3. Connect the negative battery terminal.

4. If a new sensor has been installed, reconfigure the control system using the TestBook/T4 device.
