Before disconnecting the battery, carefully read the "Disconnecting the Battery" section and follow all instructions therein.

Removal
1. Place the car on a lift.
2. Disconnect the ground cable from the battery.
3. Remove the exhaust system.
EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND DUCT SYSTEM: V-8 Engine, REPAIR WORK, Exhaust system and suspension components.
4. Remove the heated oxygen sensors. Discard the old sensor sealing rings.

5. Using the LRT-99-027 tool, cut the exhaust pipe at the location indicated by the groove-stamping. Remove the front part of the exhaust system.
Installation
1. Install new sealing rings on the heated oxygen sensors. Coat the sensor threads with anti-seize paste. Install the heated oxygen sensor in place and tighten it to 50 N·m.
CAUTION: Do not allow non-stick paste to come into contact with the sensor's sensitive element.
2. Clean the mating surfaces of the front of the exhaust system.
3. Install the front part of the exhaust system and secure the flange mounting nuts. Do not tighten the nuts completely.
4. Clean the mating surfaces of the pipes of the front and intermediate parts of the exhaust system. Install the connecting sleeve-clamp.
5. Install the exhaust system.

6. Position the clamp sleeve symmetrically relative to the connection point, align the pipes of the front and intermediate parts of the exhaust system and tighten the clamp sleeve nuts to a torque of 48 N·m.
7. Make sure the exhaust system is installed correctly.
8. Connect the ground cable of the battery.
