Removing
1.
WARNING: It is forbidden to carry out work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always place secure supports under the vehicle.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the left catalytic converter from a final collector. Loosen and discard two bolts.
3. Disconnect the right catalytic converter from a final collector. Loosen and discard two bolts.
4. Remove the heat shield from the catalytic converter monitoring sensor electrical connector. Turn out two bolts.
5. Using the special tool, remove the catalytic converter monitoring sensor.
- Release the wiring harness.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
Installation
1.
CAUTION: Be careful not to apply anti-seize compound to the tip of the catalytic converter monitoring sensor.
CAUTION: Make sure the catalytic converter monitoring sensor harness is not bent more than 180 degrees and does not touch the exhaust manifold and driveshaft.
Using the special tool, install the catalytic converter monitoring sensor.
- Clear the elements.
- Before installing the sensors, apply lubricant to their threads.
- Tighten the catalytic converter monitoring sensor to 45 Nm.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Connect the wiring harness.
3. Connect the right catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
- Clear the elements.
- Tighten the new bolts to 22 Nm.
WARNING: Make sure that the distance (A) between the nearest surfaces of the left catalytic converter and the front propeller shaft is 25-30 mm.
Connect the left catalytic converter to the exhaust manifold.
- Clear the elements.
- Tighten the new bolts to 22 Nm.
