Dismantling


1. Place the vehicle on a four-post lift.

2. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

3. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.

4. Release the front oxygen sensor wiring harness from the clamps.

5. Loosen and disconnect the oxygen sensor connector.

6. Remove the middle section of the exhaust system with the muffler.

7. Unscrew 3 bolts and remove the left heat shield.

8. Unscrew 2 bolts and remove the right heat shield.

8. Unscrew 2 bolts and remove the right heat shield.


9. Disconnect the rear oxygen sensor wiring harness from the mounting brackets.

10. Loosen and disconnect the rear oxygen sensor connector.

10. Loosen and disconnect the rear oxygen sensor connector.


11. Unscrew the 2 bolts of the cross clamp of the exhaust pipes and remove the clamp.

12. Unscrew the 2 nuts securing the neutralizer, remove the neutralizer and dispose of the gasket.

NOTE: If disassembly was performed only to provide access to other system components, no further disassembly operations should be performed.


13. Tag both oxygen sensors and remove them from the converter.

Installation


1. Clean the oxygen sensors and mating surfaces.

2. Install both sensors and tighten them to 55 Nm.

3. Wipe the neutralizer and the mating surface.

4. Install the neutralizer with a new gasket, tighten the nuts, but do not tighten them completely.

5. Install the clamp, screw in the bolts, but do not tighten them completely.

6. Connect the rear oxygen sensor connector and secure it to the bracket.

7. Secure the harness with clamps.

8. Replace the heat shields and tighten the mounting bolts to 10 Nm.

9. Install the middle section of the exhaust system with the muffler.

10. Tighten the nuts securing the neutralizer to the manifold. Tightening torque 50 Nm.

11. Tighten the clamp bolts. Tightening torque 10 Nm.



12. Connect the front oxygen sensor connector and secure it to the bracket.

13. Secure the harness with clamps.

14. Install the soundproofing casing in place.

15. Connect the negative battery terminal.
