Engine Control Module 4.4L (Discovery 3)

Removal

NOTE: If replacing the ECM, you must connect the T4 before disconnecting the battery and follow the instructions on the screen.

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery. For more information, please refer to the Specification.

2. Remove the all-wheel drive control module. For more information, refer to Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Control Module (41.30.01)

3. Remove the ECM cover.

• Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors for access.
• Disconnect the 2 ECM electrical connectors.
• Remove 4 Torx head screws.

4. Remove the ECM. Remove the ECM upper cover.

Installation

1. Install the ECM.

• Install the ECM cover and secure with the Torx head screws.
• Install the ECM upper cover.

2. Connect the ECM electrical connectors.

3. Connect the 2 electrical connectors that were separated for access.

4. Install the all-wheel drive control module. For more information, refer to Four-Wheel Drive (4WD) Control Module (41.30.01)

5. Connect the ground cable to the battery. For more information, refer to Specification.

6. Connect T4 to calibrate the new ECM.
