General procedures
NOTE: The parking brake should be fully engaged at the third notch on the ratchet.
1. Raise one of the rear wheels off the ground and support it with a axle stand.
2. Release the parking brake lever.
3. Tighten the brake adjuster (tightening torque 25 Nm), so that the pads are fully pressed against the drum.

4. Loosen the adjuster by 1.5 turns. Make sure the brake drum can rotate freely.
5.
CAUTION: The cable adjustment should ONLY be used for initial setup and to compensate for cable stretch. It CANNOT be used to compensate for brake shoe wear. The shoe wear compensation MUST be adjusted at the brake drum.
Check the operation of the parking brake lever to ensure that the pawl moves freely on two notches of the ratchet mechanism before fully engaging on the third notch. Adjust the parking brake accordingly if the lever travel is outside the specified tolerance.
6. Remove the bridge support and wheel chock.
