Brake pedal and pedal bracket (Defender 2007+)

Removal


1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the brake booster.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Brake booster (206-07 Brake booster, Removal and installation).

3. Remove the brake light switches.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Brake light switch (417-01 Exterior Lighting, Removal and Installation).

4. Remove the floor covering. Remove the two clips.

5. Open the light switch. Remove the screw.

6. Remove the light switch. Disconnect the electrical connector.

7. Release the front door seal.

8. Remove the A-pillar trim panel. Remove the two screws.

9. Remove the floor covering from the bulkhead.

10. Remove the brake light switch support bracket. Remove the two bolts.



10. Remove the brake light switch support bracket. Remove the two bolts.


11. Remove the brake pedal and bracket. Unscrew the 6 bolts.

11. Remove the brake pedal and bracket. Unscrew the 6 bolts.


12. Remove the brake pedal and bracket.

12. Remove the brake pedal and bracket.


Installation


1. Install the elements in place in the reverse order. Tighten (tightening torque 25 Nm).

2. Tighten (tightening torque 9 Nm).

3. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
