Brake pedal and pedal bracket (Freelander 2)

NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.

Removal

1. Place the SRS system in safe mode. Refer to procedure: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering (501-20, General Procedures).

2. Remove the driver lower air bag module. Refer to procedure: Driver Lower Air Bag Module (501-20B Supplemental Restraint System, Removal and Installation).

3. Remove the throttle pedal assembly. Refer to procedure: Speed Control Actuator (310-03B Speed Control - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).



4. Remove the brake pedal assembly. Tightening torque: 25 Nm



5. Remove the brake light switch.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the component is removed only for access.

6. Remove the cruise control system disable switch.

Installation

1. When installing, perform the removal procedure in reverse order.
