Inspection and testing of elements (Freelander 2)

Suspension and body fasteners

Check all suspension and body silent blocks for play. Check the condition of the rubber boots and suspension dust boots.

Fuel supply system

Check fuel system lines, hoses and connections for wear from friction, leaks and corrosion.

Wiring harnesses

Check all wiring harnesses for frayed wires.

Oil/fuel leaks

Check for oil/fuel leaks.

Power Assisted Steering (PAS)

Check the condition of the power steering rod, boots, ball joints and dust boots. Check the power steering system lines, hoses and connections for wear from friction, leaks and corrosion.

Exhaust system

Check the exhaust system for leaks, loose fittings and damage.

Clutch

Check the exhaust system for leaks, loose fittings and damage.

Malfunction lamp(s)

If the malfunction lamp(s) illuminates, check the relevant system using the diagnostic equipment recommended by Land Rover and report the results.

Road test

Carry out a road test of the vehicle. For more information, refer to the chapter: Road/Roller Test (100-00 General Information, Description and Operation).
