Dismantling


1. Remove the protective cover from the inner end of the right drive shaft.

DRIVE SHAFTS, REPAIR WORK, Seal - drive shaft - front - right.


2. Remove 4 screws, remove the differential cover with the bearing support and remove the sealing…


2. Remove 4 screws, remove the differential cover with the bearing support and remove the sealing ring.

NOTE: Do not perform further disassembly if the unit is removed only for ease of access.


3. Remove the seal from the differential cover.

4. Remove the bearing from the differential cover.

Assembly


1. Clean the bearing and the differential cover seating surface.

2. Lubricate the bearing with clean transmission oil.

FILLING CAPACITIES, USED OPERATING LIQUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.


3. Using the LRT-54-031 tool, install the bearing into the differential cover.


3. Using the LRT-54-031 tool, install the bearing into the differential cover.



4. Clean the seal and seating surface in the differential cover.

5. Using the LRT-54-028 tool, install the new seal.


5. Using the LRT-54-028 tool, install the new seal.

6. Clean the sealing ring, the groove for the ring and the contact surface.

7. Lubricate the new O-ring and install it into the differential cover.

8. Carefully install the differential cover in place, tighten the mounting screws and tighten them to a torque of 22 N·m.

9. Install the right drive shaft protective boot.
