Dismantling


1. Place the vehicle on a lift.

2. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.

3. Raise the car on a lift.

4. Raise the vehicle so that the driveshaft can turn.

5. Unscrew the 6 nuts and remove the bolts securing the cardan shaft to the flexible coupling.…


5. Unscrew the 6 nuts and remove the bolts securing the cardan shaft to the flexible coupling. Discard the mounting nuts.

6. Move the propeller shaft back and remove the flexible coupling and centering flange.

7. Apply assembly marks to the cardan shaft and the splined sleeve of the final drive tailpiece for subsequent assembly.

8. Remove the driveshaft.

9. Remove and discard the final drive shaft spline bushing seal ring.


9. Remove and discard the final drive shaft spline bushing seal ring.

Assembly


1. Wipe the driveshaft splines.

2. Install a new sealing ring.



3. Apply a small amount of grease to the splines and the seal contact surface.

FILLING CAPACITIES, USED OPERATING LIQUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.


4. Install the driveshaft.

5. Check and replace the centering flange gasket if necessary.

6. Clean the mating surfaces of the coupling and flange.

7. Connect the coupling to the flange so that the arrows on the coupling match the position of the mounting bolts, as shown in the figure.

8. Install the coupling mounting bolts and tighten the new nuts to 64 N·m.

9. Lower the car onto its wheels.

10. Lower the lift.

11. Connect the negative terminal to the battery.
