Dismantling
1. Raise the rear of the vehicle.
WARNING: Do not work under a vehicle raised only on a jack or lift. Always install safety props.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the 6 screws securing the drive shaft flange to the differential output shaft flange and remove the three bolt plates. Discard the bolts.
4. Remove the wheel hub nut locking pin.
5. With an assistant depressing the brake pedal, remove and discard the wheel hub nut.
6. Remove the brake disc.
BRAKING SYSTEM, Brake disc - front brake mechanisms, Brake disc - rear brake mechanisms.
7. Install the central screw LRT-60-030/3 into the tool LRT-60-030/1 and connect it to the hub through the intermediate flange LRT-60-030/2. Secure the connection with nuts LRT-60-030/5.
8. While tightening the central screw, press the drive shaft out of the wheel hub.
9. Remove fixtures.
10. Install the jack, resting it on the lower suspension arm.
11. Remove the nut and bolt securing the lower arm to the wheel bearing support.
12. Lower the support jack.
13. Remove the drive shaft from the differential.
14. Separate the drive shaft from the wheel bearing support, lift the upper arm with the help of an assistant and remove the drive shaft.
Assembly
1. Wipe the driveshaft flange and differential output shaft flange.
2. Clean the drive shaft and hub flange splines of dirt.
3. Apply some lubricant to the splines and seal contact surfaces.
FILLING CAPACITIES, USED OPERATING LIQUIDS, OILS AND SEALANTS, Lubrication system.
4. Wipe the lower arm and the mating surface of the wheel bearing support.
5. Align the drive shaft with the differential output shaft flange and wheel hub.
6. Align the wheel bearing support with the lower suspension arm, insert the mounting bolt, screw and lightly tighten the nut.
CAUTION: Nuts and screws must be tightened when the vehicle is properly supported by its wheels on the ground.
7. Install tool LRT-60-030/4 on the drive shaft.
8. Install tool LRT-60-030/1 with intermediate flange LRT-60-030/2 and fasten with nuts LRT-60-030/5.
9. Screw the nut onto the tool LRT-60-030/4 and, tightening the nut, press the drive shaft into the differential flange.
10. Remove fixtures.
11. Install the brake disc.
BRAKING SYSTEM, REPAIR WORKS, Brake disc -rear brake mechanisms.
12. With the help of an assistant depressing the brake pedal, install a new hub nut and tighten it to 420 Nm.
13. Lock the nut on the end of the drive shaft.
14. Wipe the screw plates, install the plates, tighten the new screws securing the drive shaft to the differential flange and tighten them with a torque of 40 Nm, then tighten them another 60°.
15. Reinstall the wheel and tighten the nuts to 140 Nm.
16. Remove props and lower the car.
17. Tighten the nut securing the lower arm to the wheel bearing support with a torque of 250 Nm.
