Dismantling
1. Drain the working fluid from the automatic transmission housing.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - ZF 5HP24, ADJUSTMENTS, Automatic transmission fluid - draining and filling.

2. Loosen the nut securing the selector lever to the gearbox selector shaft and remove the selector lever.
3. Remove the two screws securing the lock switch shield and remove the shield.

4. Evenly and gradually loosen and remove the 22 pan mounting screws.
5. Remove the pan and discard the gasket.
Assembly
1. Wipe the oil pan flange and the mating surface of the crankcase.
2. Install a new gasket on the pan and align the pan with the automatic transmission housing.
3. Install the oil pan mounting screws and tighten them gradually and evenly to a torque of 10 Nm.
4. Install the lock switch shield, tighten the mounting screws and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
5. Connect the selector lever to the lock switch, tighten the nut and tighten it to a torque of 10 N·m.
6. Fill the automatic transmission with working fluid.
