Gear shift solenoid (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the transmission pan.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - ZF 5HP24, REPAIR WORK, Gasket - automatic transmission oil pan.

2. Disconnect the connector blocks from the solenoid valves.

3. Remove the 9 Torx screws securing the electromagnet mounting plate and remove the mounting plate.

4. Remove the solenoid valve and remove the O-ring if installed.

Assembly

1. Wipe the mating surfaces of the solenoid valve.

2. Install new O-rings on the solenoid and lubricate them with automatic transmission fluid.

3. Install the solenoid on the valve block.

4. Install the electromagnet mounting bar, tighten the mounting screws and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.

5. Connect the pads to the solenoid valve connectors.

6. Replace the tray.
