Rear gearbox seal (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Remove the transfer case.

TRANSFER CASE, REPAIR WORK, Transfer case - V8.

2. Remove the 4 Torx screws securing the back cover and remove the back cover.

3. Remove the bearing.

4. Carefully remove and discard the sealing ring.

Assembly

1. Clean the crankcase and mating surfaces.



2. Using the LRT-44-029 tool, install the new seal.

3. Lubricate the new O-ring and install it into the cover.

4. Lubricate and install the bearing.

5. Install the cover assembly onto the transmission housing and tighten the Torx screws to 10 Nm.

6. Install the transfer case.
