Adjusting the gear shift cable (Freelander 2)

1. Check the operation of the gearbox.

2. Set the gear shift lever to neutral position (NEUTRAL).



3. Remove the gearshift lever handle. Refer to the procedure: Gearbox lever handle (308-06 External manual transmission controls in the drive axle/ gearbox unit, Removal and installation).





6. Disconnect the left cable clamp.

7. Allow the gear shift lever to stop in neutral.

8. Secure the selector cable clamp without changing the position of the gear selector.

9. Secure the gear shift boot.

10. Install the storage compartment tray.

11. Install the gearshift lever handle. Refer to the procedure: Gearbox lever handle (308-06 External manual transmission controls in the drive axle/ gearbox unit, Removal and installation).
