Oil cooler — removal and installation (Defender 2007+)

Removal

1. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).

2. Remove the engine oil filter.

For more information, refer to the chapter: Oil Filter Housing (303-01 Engine - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, On-car repair).

CAUTION: Plug all openings. Use new caps.

Remove the oil cooler.

• Remove 5 bolts.
• Remove and discard the O-rings.

Installation

1.

NOTE: Remove and discard plugs.

NOTE: Clean the contact surfaces of the parts.

NOTE: Install a new O-ring.

Install the elements in place in the reverse order. Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).



2. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
