The cooler of the working fluid is located on the return line between the steering gear and the reservoir. The cooler includes flexible hoses connecting the reservoir and the return pipe coming from the steering gear. The cooler is an integral part of the hoses and cannot be replaced as a separate element.
The cooler is an aluminum tube through which the power steering fluid passes. It is located in front of the engine radiator and the air conditioning condenser. Aluminum cells that dissipate heat are attached to the outside diameter of the cooler tube. When the car is moving, cold incoming air passes over the cooler, getting into its cells. The cells act as heat exchangers, giving off thermal energy to the liquid flowing through the tube.
