CAUTION: Extreme cleanliness must be observed when handling these items.
NOTE: The TD4 engine cylinders are numbered starting from the rear of the engine (rear of the transmission). Therefore, cylinder number 1 and injector number 1 are located at the rear of the engine.
NOTE: The removal procedure description may contain installation steps.
Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to procedure: Specifications (414-00 Charging System - General Information, Specifications).
2. Raise the vehicle.
WARNING: Ensure that the vehicle is supported securely.
3. Remove the intake manifold. Refer to procedure: Intake Manifold (303-01B Engine - 2.2L Duratorq - Td4, Removal and Installation).
4. Tightening torque: 10 Nm
Clean the area around the element and remove any foreign material. Plug all openings. Use new caps.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order.
