If the engine control unit needs to be replaced, connect the Testbook/T4 diagnostic tool and follow the recommended steps before disconnecting the battery.

Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Remove the 10 screws securing the cover of the mounting box and remove the cover.

3. Disconnect 5 connectors from the control unit.

4. Release the two fasteners and remove the engine control module (ECM).

Assembly


1. Install the new Engine Control Module (ECM) and connect the connectors.

2. Install the cover of the mounting box, screw in the screws and tighten them to a torque of 2 N·m.

3. Connect the negative battery terminal.
