Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling


1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2. Disconnect the pipes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Tubes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.


3. Loosen the two bolts securing the knock sensor (KS) to the cylinder block and remove the sensor.

Assembly


1. Wipe the knock sensor (KS) and mating surfaces on the cylinder block.

2. Install the knock sensor (KS) on the cylinder block, screw in the sensor mounting bolts and tighten them to a torque of 20 Nm.

3. Install the pipes connecting the cooling system pump to the distribution pipe.

COOLING SYSTEM: V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Tubes connecting the distribution pipe to the cooling system pump.


4. Connect the negative battery terminal.

5. If a new sensor has been installed, reconfigure the control system using the TestBook/T4 device.
