Before disconnecting the battery, make sure that all requirements and conditions contained in the section on disconnecting the battery are met.

Dismantling
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. Remove the engine soundproofing cover.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing casing.

3. Disconnect the connector from the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
4. Release the sensor harness from the clamp on the valve cover.

5. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor mounting bolt and remove the sensor. Discard the sealing ring.
Assembly
1. Wipe the camshaft position (CMP) sensor and mating surfaces.
2. Install a new O-ring onto the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
3. Install the camshaft position (CMP) sensor, screw in the bolt and tighten it to 10 Nm.
4. Connect the connector to the camshaft position (CMP) sensor.
5. Secure the sensor harness (CMP) to the clamp on the valve cover.
6. Reinstall the engine soundproofing cover.
V8 engine, REPAIR WORK, Engine soundproofing casing.
7. Connect the negative battery terminal.
8. If a new sensor has been installed, reconfigure the control system using the TestBook/T4 device.
