Removal
1.
WARNING: Never work on a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with special stands.
Raise the vehicle and place supports underneath it.
2. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Disconnecting and connecting the battery (414-01 Battery, Battery Mounting and Cables, General Procedures).
3. Remove the oil pan.
For more information, refer to the chapter: Oil pan (303-01 Engine - Diesel engine ID4 2.4L, On-car repair).

NOTE: The special tool must be in contact with the oil pump sprocket.
Install the special tool into the cylinder block and screw in, but do not tighten, the 2 bolts.
- Press the special tool against the oil pump sprocket.
- Tighten the 2 bolts.

5. Remove the oil pickup pipe. Unscrew the two bolts.

6. Disconnect the oil pump. Unscrew the 4 bolts.

NOTE: Engine oil will spill out after you pull the chain down.
Remove the oil pump. Pull the oil pump chain to remove the chain from the sprocket.

Installation
1.
NOTE: Do not fully tighten the fuel pump bolts at this stage.
Install the oil pump.
- Install the chain onto the oil pump sprocket.
- Install, but do not tighten, the oil pump bolts.
2. Secure the oil pump.
- Move the oil pump forward so that the sprocket contacts the special tool.
- Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 lbs/ft).
3. Remove the special tools. Unscrew the two bolts.
4. Install the oil pickup pipe. Tighten the bolts (tightening torque 10 Nm).
5. Install the oil pan.

6. Connect the ground wire to the battery.
