Locations of identification numbers (Freelander 1)

Engine number

The engine number is stamped on the front of the cylinder block next to the gearbox (for K1.8 engines).



The engine number is stamped on the rear left side of the KV6 engine cylinder block.



The engine number is stamped on the rear left side of the Td4 engine cylinder block.

Manual transmission serial number

The serial number of the PG1 manual transmission is indicated on a label located on the front of the clutch housing.



The serial number of the Getrag manual transmission is indicated on the tag attached to the transmission housing.

Automatic transmission serial number

The serial number of the JATCO automatic transmission is stamped on the upper right side of the transmission housing.

Intermediate Reduction Gear IRD

The serial number of the intermediate reduction gear IRD is indicated on the tag attached to the gearbox housing.
