NOTE: Front reinforcement of fender apron panel must be separated from fender apron service panel; it is not supplied separately.
NOTE: The panel is serviced without its mounting studs.
Removing
1. When replacing the front spar and wing apron panel, the following elements are removed:
- front bumper cover
- Front bumper
- Hood
- Hood latch panel
- Both front fenders
- Wing apron bottom panel
2. 3. Remove the lower fender apron panel. For more information, see the chapter: Bottom panel of the splash guard (501-27 Repairs of sheet metal elements of the front end, Removal and installation).
4. Mill out the weld points.
5. Separate the connections and remove the old panel.
Installation
1. Prepare the connecting surfaces of the old and new panels.
2. Drill holes in the new panel for electric MIG welding.
3. Attach the new panel and lock it in place. Check the reconciliation, if it is correct, go to the next step. If not, correct and recheck before proceeding to the next step.
4. Weld with electric rivets using MIG technology.
5. Install new dowel pins.
6. Clean all welds.
7. Reverse the removal procedure to install the appropriate panels and mechanicals.
