Health protection and precautions (Freelander 2)

Modern vehicles use a variety of fluids and other materials that, if handled improperly, pose a health hazard to service personnel and the environment. Most procedures related to vehicle repair and maintenance involve physical or other health hazards.

This subsection covers some of these hazardous operations and the materials and equipment associated with them. Precautions necessary to eliminate such hazards are indicated.

The list is not exhaustive and therefore all operations and procedures, as well as handling of materials, must be carried out taking into account health and safety requirements.

WARNING: Operating fluids and materials used in modern cars are dangerous and toxic. They must not be ingested. Avoid contact with skin. Such fluids and materials include: acid for preparing electrolyte, low-freezing fluids, fuel, brake fluid, windshield washer fluid, lubricants, coolants and various adhesives.
