Starter Thermal Protection (4.0 V8 Engine) (Discovery 1)

1. Disconnect the battery.

2. Raise the car on a lift.

3. Remove the oxygen sensor from the right exhaust pipe.



4. Loosen the bolt securing the heat shield to the right engine mount.

5. Release the thermal protection from the starter solenoid clip.

6. Remove the heat shield (back up and turn down).

7. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
