Arming the vehicle with a signal from the remote control turns on the engine start inhibit unit and indicates the door locking and activation of the volumetric sensor.

Full system activation occurs when:
  • 1. There is no movement in the car for 15 seconds after the alarm is activated (i.e. there is no one there).
  • 2. All doors and the hood are completely closed.

If one of the conditions is not met, the protection will be performed partially.

The system can be switched off only from the control panel. Opening the door with the key does not disable the systems.

The system can be turned off in one of the following ways:
  • 1. Position the control panel as close to the ignition switch as possible when turning the ignition key to the starter position (usually, a standard remote control hanging from the lock key is sufficient).
  • 2. Press the "UNLOCK" button on the remote control.
  • 3. Press the "LOCK" button on the remote control and turn the lock key to the ON position.
  • 4. Enter the access code (insert EKA key).

Note:
  • 1. Any attempt to start the engine with the remote control disconnected from the ignition switch will fail.
  • 2. When the doors are closed with the key, the volumetric sensor will not be activated.

Battery disconnect sound signal

An audible signal is generated when the anti-theft system is activated to confirm that the system check procedure has begun.

Note: When disconnected, the anti-theft alarm will sound.

Anti-theft alarm system component locations (model 96)

1 - control unit and relay - under the front panel (from the passenger side), 2 - anti-theft alarm system indicator - instrument cluster, 3 - engine start block indicator - instrument cluster, 4 - system shutdown coil - on the ignition switch, 5 - switch (hood) - on the right in the engine compartment, 6 - switches (doors), 7 - ultrasonic sensor unit - on the interior light panel, 8 - door lock buttons, 9 - remote control, 10 - battery disconnect sound signal (if installed) - in the engine compartment, 11 - engine start interlock unit - above the heater, 12 - antenna - part of the front panel wiring.

Engine start lock indicator

The indicator lights up when the remote control is removed from the ignition key (or if the latter is faulty) when trying to start the engine.

Anti-theft system activation indicator

When the vehicle is fully armed, the indicator will flash quickly for 10 seconds, then switch to rare flashes.

If the car is not fully armed (door lock only) in the first 10 seconds, the indicator will flash quickly with pauses, then switch to rare flashes.

If the system is not turned on, the indicator will not flash for 10 seconds after the arming signal.

Carrier frequency of radio signals

Frequency (MHz)Color of control unit/remote controlRegion
433.92blue/blueEurope
315.00green/ greenThe rest of the world

Note: For Japan and Gulf countries, the remote control may be marked in brown.

Anti-theft alarm system shutdown coil

The coil receives a signal from the remote control and transmits a signal to the control unit to disable the anti-theft system.

Inertia switch and central locking

Triggering the inertia switch causes the central lock to open. After a certain period of time (usually up to 5 minutes) the connection between the two systems is interrupted (only if the ignition key is in the ON position).
