Electronic ignition of the V8i engine (Discovery 1)
The ignition system uses a Lucas 35 DLM8 distributor with vacuum and centrifugal ignition timing regulators. When the distributor sensor passes the synchronizing ring protrusion past its core, it generates a signal for spark formation. The sensor signal is amplified and converted by an amplifier mounted on the distributor body.
