1 - cover, 2 - high-voltage brush and spring, 3 - rotor, 4 - insulating cap, 5 - sensor and sensor board, 6 - vacuum regulator, 7 - amplifier, 8 - sealing ring, 9 - gasket.

5. Mark the position of the rotor center relative to the distributor housing.

5. Mark the position of the rotor center relative to the distributor housing.

6. Apply relative installation marks to the distributor housing and the front engine cover.

Note: The marks made will allow the distributor to be installed in its old position, provided that the engine shaft is not turned after the distributor is removed. Otherwise, you will have to go through the full distributor installation procedure.

7. Unscrew the distributor bracket fastening and remove the distributor.

Installation

Note: When installing a new distributor, mark it in the same places as the old one.

8. The wires on the distributor cap must be positioned as shown in the figure. In the figure, numbers 1-8 indicate cylinder numbers.

LH - left half block, RH - right half block.

LH - left half block, RH - right half block.

9. If the engine shaft was turned with the distributor removed, proceed to step 18.

10. Install a new sealing ring.

11. Turn the distributor drive 30 degrees counterclockwise from the aligned marks on the rotor and housing.

12. Install the distributor according to the mark on the housing and the front cover of the engine.

Note: It may be necessary to reposition the oil pump shaft to align the tab on the distributor shaft with the slot in the pump shaft.

13. Install the distributor mounting bracket, align the previously made marks, and secure the distributor.

14. Connect the vacuum hose and low-voltage wire from the ignition coil to the distributor.

15. Install the distributor cap.

16. Connect the battery.

17. Check and adjust the ignition timing angle.

18. If the engine shaft was turned with the distributor removed:

19. Move the piston of the 1st cylinder to the ignition timing position.

20. Turn the distributor drive so that the center of the rotor is 30 degrees away (counterclockwise) to the high-voltage terminal of the 1st cylinder wire.

21. Install the distributor.

22. Make sure that the center of the rotor is aligned with the high-voltage terminal of the 1st cylinder wire.

23. Reposition the distributor if necessary; it may be necessary to change the position of the oil pump shaft to align the distributor shaft protrusion with the slot in the pump shaft.

24. Install the distributor mounting bracket, do not tighten the mounting bolt.

25. Set the ignition timing to 6 degrees before TDC.

26. Reinstall the removed parts.

27. Start the engine and check the timing advance angle using the strobe light.
