2. Raise the car on a lift.
3. Remove the oxygen sensor from the right exhaust pipe.

4. Mark the relative positions of the front propeller shaft and transfer case flanges.
5. Disconnect the front propeller shaft.
6. Hang the driveshaft to the side.
7. Remove the starter thermal protection, see below.

8. Disconnect the wire from the traction relay.
9. Unscrew the nut securing the wire to the traction relay and remove the wire.
10. From above, unscrew the upper bolt securing the starter and ground cable. A 230mm extension will be required here.
11. Unscrew the lower starter mounting bolt.
12. Remove the starter.
13. Installation is carried out in reverse order.
Bolt tightening torque:
- starter - 42 Nm.
- cardan shaft - 48 Nm.
