Rear extension housing seal (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling


1. Remove the transfer case.

TRANSFER CASE, REPAIR WORK, Transfer case - Td6.


2. Remove the 7 screws securing the rear extension housing to the gearbox.


2. Remove the 7 screws securing the rear extension housing to the gearbox.

3. Remove the extension housing and discard the sealing gasket.

4. Remove the seal from the rear extension housing.

Assembly


1. Wipe the groove under the seal.

2. Using the LRT-44-029 tool, install a new seal into the rear extension housing.


2. Using the LRT-44-029 tool, install a new seal into the rear extension housing.

3. Clean the crankcase and mating surfaces.

4. Install the rear extension housing gasket.

5. Install the seal protective sleeve supplied with the seal onto the end of the shaft.

6. Install the rear extension housing, tighten the screws and tighten them to 10 Nm.



7. Install the transfer case.

TRANSFER CASE, REPAIR WORK, Transfer case - Td6.
