Dismantling


1. Remove the exhaust system.

EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND EXHAUST SYSTEM: Td6 engine, REPAIR WORK, Exhaust system and suspension of system components.


2. Remove the automatic transmission filter.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GM 5L40-E, REPAIR WORK, Filter - automatic transmission working fluid.


3. Remove and discard the gear selector shaft seal.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION - GM 5L40-E, REPAIR WORK, Seal - gear selector shaft.


4. Loosen the screws securing the thrust spring plate to the valve body and remove the spring plate.

5. Disconnect the connector from the lock switch connector.

6. Move the selector shaft outward until the stop lever falls.

7. Remove the lock switch from the stop lever.



Assembly


1. Clean the lock switch and mating surface.

2. Install the lock switch on the stop lever.

3. Make sure the switch gasket is positioned with the slot facing down.

4. Install the stop lever on the selector shaft.

5. Install the thrust spring plate onto the valve body and tighten the screws, but do not tighten them completely.

6. Install a 0.8mm spacer between the stop lever and the spring plate and tighten the screws to a…


6. Install a 0.8mm spacer between the stop lever and the spring plate and tighten the screws to a torque of 10 Nm.

7. Remove the spacer inserted between the stop lever and the spring plate.

8. Connect the pads to the lock switch connector.

9. Install the gear selector shaft seal.

10. Install the automatic transmission filter.

11. Reinstall the exhaust system.
