Adjusting the Engine Start Interlock Switch (Freelander 1)

Adjustment

1. Move the selector lever to the 'N' position.



2. Loosen the 2 bolts securing the lock switch to the gearbox housing.

3. Install the LRT-44-018 tool onto the gear selector lever on the transmission, turn the lock switch until the adjusting pin can be inserted through the hole in the switch lever.

4. Tighten the switch mounting bolts to 3 N·m and remove the LRT-44-018 tool.

5. Check that the engine starts when the selector lever is in the "P" or "N" position, and that the engine starts are inhibited when the selector lever is in the drive positions.
