Dismantling
1. Set the selector to the 'Neutral' position and remove the selector handle.
CAUTION: The lever handle may come loose suddenly. Be careful not to injure your face when removing the handle.
2. Starting at the front end, carefully remove the spring retainer securing the selector lever position indicator to the center console. Remove the two side clips and slide the pointer forward.
3. Disconnect the connector from the Hill Descent Switch.
4. Disconnect the connector from the selector position indicator.
5. Remove the pointer assembly.
Installation
1. Install the selector position indicator on the center console.
2. Attach two connectors.
3. Check that the LCD panel is seated on the positioning tabs.
4. Fix the index of position of the selector on the central console.
5. Establish a handle of the selector of an automatic transmission.
CAUTION: The selector must be in the 'Park' position when the handle is reinstalled, failure to do so may damage the selector mechanism.
