Dismantling


1. Drain the oil from the gearbox.

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION: JATCO, ADJUSTMENTS, Replacement of working fluid in the box.


2. Remove the working fluid cooling heat exchanger.

3. Release the connectors from the spring latches on the bottom of the box.

4. Unscrew the 21 bolts securing the bottom of the gearbox to the gearbox.

5. Remove the bottom of the gearbox.

Installation


1. Clean the mating surfaces on the bottom of the gearbox and on the gearbox.

2. Apply STC 4600 sealant to the sealing surfaces of the bottom and box.

3. Install the gearbox bottom, screw in the bolts and tighten them sequentially to a torque of 7 Nm.

4. Secure the connectors in the spring clips.

5. Install the working fluid cooling heat exchanger.

6. Fill the gearbox with transmission oil.
