Selector handle — removal and installation (Freelander 1)

Dismantling

The drawing corresponds to cars produced before May 2004 (later models are similar)

1. Pull the handle up to disengage it from the lever tail.

CAUTION: The lever handle may suddenly come loose. Be careful not to injure your face when removing the handle.

Installation

1. Install the handle by aligning the locking lug on the handle with the slot in the selector lever.

2. Press the handle down to fully engage it onto the selector lever.

CAUTION: When replacing the handle, the selector must be in the "Park" position; failure to do so may result in damage to the selector mechanism.
