Dismantling
1. Remove the gearbox.
AUTOMATIC GEARBOX: JATCO, REPAIR WORK, Gearbox: vehicles with KV6 engine.
AUTOMATIC GEARBOX: JATCO, REPAIR WORK, Gearbox: vehicle with Td4 engine.
2. Remove the torque converter from the gearbox. Dispose of the box input shaft O-ring.
3. Take out an epiploon of the hydrotransformer from a transmission. Dispose of the seal.
CAUTION: Be careful when removing the oil seal so as not to damage the oil pump housing.
Installation
1. Wipe the centering shoulder of the torque converter.
2. Wipe the socket of the torque converter oil seal in the gearbox housing. Lubricate the torque converter seal with clean working fluid.
FILLING CAPACITIES, LIQUIDS AND OILS, Lubrication system.
3. Install the oil seal using the LRT-44-024 tool.
4. Lubricate the new O-ring and install its input shaft.
5. Install torque converter.
6. Check that the torque converter is fully seated on the oil pump drive by measuring dimension 'A' shown in the figure.
- Models with KV6 engine: Dimension A = 4 mm.
- Models with Td4 engine: Dimension A = 27 mm.
7. Install the gearbox.
