Dismantling
1. Raise the front of the vehicle.
CAUTION: Do not work under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle with safety stands.
2. Remove the top floor tunnel trim.
INTERIOR TRIM PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Center console - for vehicles up to model year 2004.

3. Disconnect the cable from the selector lever.
4. Remove the fork clip securing the cable housing to the selector housing.
5. Disconnect and set aside the side mirror control unit, if installed.

6. Disconnect the selector shift lock relay connector.
7. Disconnect the connector from the sport/manual mode switch.
8. Loosen the bolt and disconnect the cable from the ignition lock mechanism, if such a mechanism is installed.

9. Unscrew the 6 nuts securing the selector housing.
10. Remove the selector housing.
11. Loosen the screw and remove the side mirror control unit cover.
Installation
1. Install the side mirror control unit cover and secure it with the screw.
2. Install the selector housing, tighten the nuts and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
3. Attach the ignition lock cable. Install the cable housing, install the clamp, screw in the clamp bolt, but do not tighten at this stage.
4. Connect the connector to the sport/manual mode switch.
5. Connect the connector to the selector shift lock relay.
6. Secure the cable to the selector lever.
7. Insert the fork clip securing the cable housing to the selector housing.
8. Check the ignition lock cable adjustment.

9. Replace the floor tunnel top trim.
INTERIOR TRIM PARTS, REPAIR WORK, Center console - for vehicles up to model year 2004.
10. Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
