Gear selector shaft seal (Range Rover 3)

Dismantling

1. Loosen the nut securing the selector lever to the gearbox selector shaft and remove the selector lever.

2. Remove the two screws from the selector cable mounting bracket to the gearbox and secure the cable to the side.



3. Using the LRT-44-030/1 tool, remove the selector shaft seal from the gearbox housing and discard it.

Assembly

1. Wipe the selector shaft and the groove for the seal.



2. Using the LRT-44-030/2 tool, install the seal into the gearbox housing.



3. Install the selector lever onto the selector shaft, tighten the nut and tighten it to a torque of 10 Nm.

4. Install the selector cable mounting plate on the gearbox housing, tighten the screws and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
