Dismantling


1. Remove the lower engine guard.

2. Loosen the bolt securing the gearshift rod spacer to the transfer case bracket, remove the spacer and 2 washers from the bracket.

3. Remove the shift rod pivot pin cover, take out and discard the pin.

4. Disconnect the gear shift rod from the gear selector rod.

5. Place a container under the gearbox to collect any leaking oil.

6. Carefully remove the corrugated cover from the rod.

7. Remove and discard the gear selector shaft seal.

Installation


1. Wipe the gear selector shaft.

2. Install a new oil seal onto the gear selector shaft and tap it into place using a tubular drift.



3. Place the corrugated cover on the rod and make sure that its edges enter the grooves on the gland.

4. Remove the container from under the gearbox.

5. Install the shift rod onto the selector rod, install the new pivot pin and replace the cover.

6. Install the washers on the gear selector shaft spacer and install the spacer on the bracket.

7. Screw in the bolt securing the spacer to the bracket and tighten the bolt to a torque of 25 Nm.

8. Add transmission oil to the gearbox.

9. Reinstall the lower engine guard.
