Removal



1. Raise the car on a lift.

2. Mark the relative positions of the propeller shaft and final drive flanges.

3. Unscrew the 4 nuts securing the cardan shaft and hang the shaft to the side. Throw away the nuts.

4. Holding the main gear flange with the LRT-51-003 wrench, unscrew the flange mounting nut or bolt.

Note: The flange retaining nut was installed on early models.

5. Remove the flange and seal.

Installation



6. Clean the oil seal seat.

7. Lubricate the sealing lip of the oil seal with transmission oil.

8. Using the LRT-51-009 mandrel, install the oil seal in place.

9. Install the final drive flange. Tighten the nut to 135 Nm and the bolt to 100 Nm.

10. Reinstall the removed parts.

11. Add oil to the final drive housing.
