Removal



1. Place the rear axle on stands and remove the wheels.

2. Disconnect the brake caliper and secure it to the side. Do not hang by the hose!

3. Loosen the five axle shaft mounting bolts and remove the axle shaft.

4. Remove the sealing washer.

5. Bend the edges of the lock washer away from the nut.

6. Unscrew the lock nut and remove the lock washer.

7. Loosen the adjusting nut.

8. Remove the adjusting washer.

9. Remove the hub assembly.

Installation



10. Clean the mating surfaces of the hub. Pull the ABS sensor slightly out of the intermediate shaft housing (if installed).

11. Install the hub.

12. Install the adjusting washer.

1 - ABS sensor gear fastening nuts, 2 - half-shaft, 3 - washer, 4 - half-shaft bolt (5 pcs.), 5 - lock nut, 6 - lock washer, 7 - adjusting nut, 8 - washer, 9 - outer bearing, 10 - hub, 11 - inner bearing, 12 - oil seal, 13 - brake disc, 14 - disc fastening bolt (5 pcs.), 15 - ABS sensor gear.


13. Install the adjusting nut.

Tighten the nut to a torque of 50 Nm. Turn the hub several times. Loosen the nut 90 degrees and tighten to 10 Nm. Check the axial clearance: it should now be 0.01 mm.



14. Install a new lock washer.

15. Install the lock nut. Tighten to 50 Nm.

16. Bend the edges of the lock washer onto the faces of both nuts.

17. Install a new sealing washer and insert the axle shaft into the differential. Tighten the mounting bolts to 65 Nm.

18. Install the brake caliper. Tighten the fasteners to a torque of 82 Nm.

19. Reinstall the ABS sensor (if installed). Rotate the hub to seat the sensor.

20. Install the wheels. Tighten the mounting nuts to a torque of 126 Nm.

21. Press the brake pedal to install the brake pads in place.
